I have a 1 day ticket that has the expiry date of January 2027. Is there any way this could be extended a year? My son was sick when we were there in 2025 and we are still dealing with it. He will need surgery in fall. So we will not be going 2027.

    Hiya, Paula! Welcome to planDisney!

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to postpone visiting Walt Disney World Resort, Paula. But rest assured, there are plenty of exciting things in the works all across the resort, and when you do eventually return to The Most Magical Place on Earth, there will just be that much more to see and do!

Generally speaking, you are able to change the start date of your ticket to a new eligible date. You can do this on the My Disney Experience app or on the Walt Disney World Resort website. To change your tickets on the My Disney Experience app, from the main screen tap the three horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen and select “Tickets and Passes.” Once you’ve located the ticket you’d like to change, tap “Change Ticket” and then select new valid ticket dates.

To change your tickets on the Walt Disney World website, navigate to the “My Disney Experience” tab and select “My Plans.” Under the “Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker” heading, locate the ticket you’d like to modify and select “Change Ticket.” Please note that if the new ticket date is more expensive, you will be required to pay the difference. You’ll be able to review the cost before confirming your changes. If for whatever reason you don’t see these options, or if you would like some help with this process, you can contact Walt Disney World Resort directly. A friendly Cast Member will be more than happy to help!

There are so many exciting projects that are set to open in the theme parks in the not-so-distant future, Paula. A Tropical Americas-themed land is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It will be home to Pueblo Esperanza, which will include the first-ever Encanto attraction at a Disney park. The DINOSAUR attraction is also being reimagined into an Indiana Jones-themed attraction, which is so exciting! Depending on when you return, you may even get to experience some of these exciting new offerings!

I hope this has been helpful, Paula. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at planDisney. We’re always happy to help!

    See you real soon!
