Welcome to planDisney! My oldest just turned 10, and we had the best time at Disney World this summer!
First and foremost, you can’t go wrong when choosing the 3 parks you’ll visit. It will really come down to your priorities and likes. I’d look at what attractions are offered at each park and any characters or dining that stand out. But to help you narrow things down, let’s chat about some of his favorites.
This was our first trip that my son really enjoyed all the big roller coasters! His favorite parks were Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
Magic Kingdom is such a classic, so we never go to Disney World without visiting that park! My son’s favorites were TRON, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Space Mountain, but he’s always up for a ride on the PeopleMover, too! I think we’ve officially decided that our favorite spot to watch
Happily Ever After fireworks is right behind Cinderella Castle. That way, we can keep riding all the way up until the fireworks start without having to stake out our spot early.
At
Hollywood Studios, it was all about Slinky Dog Dash and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. We had lunch at
Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which is a restaurant we’ve eaten at before and he always loves.
With all that being said, he still enjoyed our time at Animal Kingdom and Epcot, too!
At
Animal Kingdom, he loved riding Flight of Passage for the first time, and he said that eating lunch at
Nomad Lounge needs to become a tradition from here on out. It’s good to note that there’s a big part of Animal Kingdom that’s currently under construction, so we got through that park much quicker than the other ones. If you’re looking for a park day that’s a little bit shorter and more low-key, Animal Kingdom may be the perfect fit!
At
Epcot, we were lucky enough to enjoy all the major attractions plus make time for some of the play areas. We ended the night with a fireworks view while eating dinner at
La Hacienda de San Angel, which felt magical! If your daughter is into princesses, Epcot would be perfect for her!
