My daughter is traveling to Disney with her school. How can I buy her a lightning lane pass? The website says you must be 18 to buy one.

    Hello, Caroline!

What a magical opportunity your daughter has to travel to Walt Disney World with her school. I don’t know about you, but my most exciting field trip was to our state capital building!

You're absolutely right that to purchase and book Lightning Lane Multi Passes and Single Passes, guests need to be 18 or older. While students aged 13 and up can have their own My Disney Experience accounts, they’re unable to make Lightning Lane purchases.

Your best bet is to check with the adult leaders for the trip. They may have already made plans for Lightning Lane purchases, and many school groups have specific guidelines on how they want to navigate the parks together. I also highly recommend checking out the Disney Imagination Campus website. It’s an incredible resource for youth groups planning their park experience and also offers specialized curricula and workshops! Your adult leaders may already be familiar with the site, but if not, feel free to pass along the information. It could be a big help!

I hope this information is helpful! If you have any more questions or need more pixie dust, come back to planDisney anytime, we love to help!

Meet the Panelist: Anne, Iowa

I’m Anne, a native Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother. For me, a major part of the fun of a Disney trip is the planning. I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother.  One of my favorite things to do is to travel with multi-generational groups. I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures. Learn More About Anne
