Greetings to you, Jennifer!
We'd like to extend a very warm welcome to you from all of us at planDisney! As a fellow parent of a Class of 2025 high schooler, I commend you for your dedication to your daughter's growth and education. It's a long road we've traveled and the hope is that we've prepared our younglings for the next chapter in their lives. And celebrating that transition with a Disneyland Resort Grad Nite sounds like an epic (and safe!) way to commemorate the event!
Disneyland Resort Grad Nite is arranged by the
Disney Imagination Campus. My friend and fellow panelist
Elaine wrote up a
wonderful answer to a similar question last year. I called and spoke to a Cast Member at Imagination Campus and confirmed that the response is still valid. In order to be eligible to participate in Grad Nite, a formal home school organization must register the students. Therefore, your daughter must be part of a sponsoring school or co-op organization who would register the students as a group. Unfortunately, tickets to Disneyland Resort Grad Nite are not sold to individuals. Registration usually begins in August, so you have some time to make the necessary arrangements before tickets go on sale. You may also contact them at 714-517-7287 or email dlr.lead.dept@disneyland.com for more information.
The Disneyland Resort releases a lot of special merchandise specific for graduating seniors around that time each year, so it's a great time for even just a normal visit to the Happiest Place on Earth to celebrate your daughter! And in the meantime, if you'd like to infuse your daughter's education with a bit of magic, the Imagination Campus released a
blog article on how to involve a home schooled student into their curriculum.
Fun Fact: Disneyland Resort
Grad Nites began in 1961 and have remained a time honored tradition among Southern California families. Many consider it a rite of passage for their kids before graduating! The first one drew over 8,500 students across 33 different schools. And back in the day, seniors were encouraged to dress up, with men sporting a coat and tie and women wearing dresses.
Jennifer, I hope that this response was helpful for you. Congratulations to your daughter for her impending graduation and congrats to you for being her parent, teacher, and mentor! If there is anything else you'd like to ask us, please return again because we'd love to hear from you. You're always welcome at planDisney.
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
