What are current housekeeping practices? (Changing towels, emptying trash?)

Hi Linda! Welcome to planDisney, thank you for your question! Are you ready for the most magical vacation ever? It is just around the river bend, and I bet you and your family are eagerly counting down these final weeks!

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Walt Disney World Resort has gone the distance to ensure guests feel safe while visiting the parks, including installing hand sanitizer stations, and enforcing proper mitigation measures when the pandemic was at its peak. Reducing housekeeping visits to your resort room was also included in this change, limiting visits by housekeeping to 1 or 2 visits throughout your entire stay. As a guest of a Disney Resorts Hotel, you can expect a modified housekeeping service, and have peace of mind knowing that your resort room was thoroughly cleaned before check in. You can also log in to your My Disney Experience app and decline housekeeping services altogether if you wish to not have anyone come in at all. Find your reservation under "Resort Hotel" in the app, and press "Start Check-In Now". Scroll to the bottom under "Housekeeping Service" and you will have the option of choosing "I'd like service every other day" or "I'd like to decline service during my stay". I visited Walt Disney World during the height of the pandemic in 2020, and last year as well, and had modified housekeeping during both my visits with no issues at all. Just choose whatever you feel is best for your family!

Linda, I hope you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World, enjoy dining your way around the world at EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and the holiday decor that will be popping up throughout the parks, and say hello to my pal, Mickey for me!
