We have an 8am CRT ADR. MK EE starts at 8:30am. I'm staying at Grand Floridian and use an ECV. I'm nervous we will be stuck behind rope drop crowds and won't make it to the castle by 8am. Any advice?

    Hi Danielle,

So nice to connect with you again - how amazing that you secured a very special breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table before Magic Kingdom Park opens! Just as Cinderella says, “oh that clock. Old killjoy.” I can understand you feeling the stress of this amazing schedule. I’m here to reassure you that everything will work out beautifully! Let’s look at the details together.

Early Theme Park Entry allows Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park 30 minutes before it officially opens. In practicality, everyone is allowed through the gates before that time. Guests may enjoy Main Street, U.S.A. until official theme park opening. Those staying on property are allowed deeper into the park with a second checkpoint to confirm they are resort hotel Guests at the posted Early Entry time. Similarly, Guests with an early dining reservation are also verified and allowed to proceed past the checkpoint so you would navigate to Cinderella Castle from there.

For your special breakfast, you can take the Resort Monorail from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Magic Kingdom Park which begins operating at 7:00 A.M. and will accommodate your ECV. Please know that the walkway from the resort to Magic Kingdom is temporarily closed and will reopen in “late spring,” which may not be in time for your visit.

When you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park, please make your way to the central gates and speak with a Cast Member since your reservation time is so far ahead of Early Theme Park Entry. They may escort you directly to breakfast or ask you to join the queues for regular Early Entry procedures.

If directed, you will wait at the front entrance until Cast Members begin admitting everyone. This may be around 8:00 A.M. but please don’t fret, your breakfast reservation will be safe. Please see a similar question I answered for another Guest, this is a common concern. No need to “tell the guards to open up the gates,” they will allow everyone in at once and you can take that beautiful morning stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. This is a good time to begin the check-in process on your My Disney Experience App to alert the noble team at Cinderella’s Royal Table that you’re on your way.

You should see a Cast Member holding a sign for early breakfast reservations to direct you; if not, just keep swimming towards the castle. Please don’t worry about the exact timing, your 8:00 A.M. reservation will be honored if you’re following the standard Early Entry Procedures and no one will turn into a pumpkin for arriving shortly thereafter.

The full character meal experience returns this week, Danielle, so you will start your day in the most magical way with royal visits and incredible food! I’m so excited for you and I hope this explanation helps manage your expectations and most importantly, reduce any worry.

Please send me another question if you’d like to continue our conversation or if there’s anything else I can help you with as your wonderful vacation approaches.

    Have courage and be kind,
    Amy
