Hiya, Simone! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sharing your question with us!
At nearly 43 square miles, Walt Disney World is bigger than some American cities and is actually located in two different Florida counties: Osceola County and Orange County. Looking at some maps with the help of Dr. Internet, Fort Wilderness Resort and the whole Magic Kingdom resort area are in Orange County.
Based on the information you’ve shared, your visit to Walt Disney World is just a few weeks away. How exciting! I’m sure you have an awesome vacation all planned out, but be sure to browse all of the activities available at Fort Wilderness if you haven’t already. Not only is there fishing, volleyball, canoeing, and bike rentals, but Fort Wilderness is also home to the
Tri-Circle-D Ranch, which has its own equine-based experiences.
Also, be sure to browse the
Disney Parks Blog ahead of your visit to ensure you’re up to date on everything happening at the theme parks and resort hotels this summer. There are all sorts of new experiences, like Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets and Soarin’ Across America, as well as beloved rides returning from refurbishment like Big Thunder Mountain. You can read all about it
here.
Simone, I hope this information helps with your vacation planning. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have additional questions. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!
Magical travels!
Matt
