We stayed at Boulder Ridge Villas at the end of April. We are obsessed with the smell when you walk into the lobby. I’ve been trying so hard to recreate it but to no avail… can someone tell me the exact scent they use? My wallet thanks you!

Hi there, Chris! Thank you for bringing this great question to planDisney! I'm happy to try and help you with it!

I'm a bit of a science nerd, and I'm fascinated by how smells can trigger emotional responses. They activate our brain's memory centers and can affect our mental and physical well-being. How cool is that? Walt Disney World is The Most Magical Place on Earth and truly a happy place for so many of us. Something draws us back year after year. Recreating the scents that bring us so much joy just makes sense!

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge has become a favorite choice for many guests. The theming feels both rustic and nostalgic. The lobby is welcoming and cozy with a woodsy, earthy aroma. I'm told the base is sandalwood. There are a few online candle companies that have tried to recreate different Disney smells with varying degrees of success, depending on the consumer. Disney uses the ScentAir brand, but their specific product is exclusive to hotels and businesses.

Your best bet to recreate this scent is with Bowes Signature Candles at Disney Springs. They have a Remini-Scents line with many Disney fragrances. While they do have a website you can order from, there's unfortunately no way to smell before you buy. I'm hopeful that their Wooden Lodge option is what you're looking for.

You may also find that signature scent at Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, located in the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The resort gift shops often carry exclusive merchandise for guests like you who are looking to recreate that same experience between visits.

I hope this was helpful, Chris, and that you are successful in your quest! Your only other option is to book another visit to Walt Disney World and Boulder Ridge! (I guess that wouldn't be so bad, though, huh?) If you have any more questions, please come back and see us here at planDisney
