Coming w/ my 3 yr old for the day. She can get overwhelmed and collapse on the floor. Unfortunately she wont fit comfortably in a stroller during these times and requires wagon as an assisted device. Is Disney still accommodating to children w/autism?

Magical greetings, Ashley, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for asking your question about accommodations for your child's needs. I'm happy to help!

In looking at the Walt Disney World Property Rules, wagons, including stroller wagons are prohibited. An exception to this is when being used as a medically-necessary substitution for a mobility device. These are evaluated on site on a case-by-case basis. You'll need to visit Guest Services to speak with a Cast Member about having your wagon approved as a mobility device and tagged as a "Stroller as Wheelchair." I recommend reaching out to Disability Services in advance of your trip just to make sure you are well prepared for your visit. They can be reached at Disability.Services@disneyparks.com.

I'm also happy to share with you that here are many other accommodations available for Guests who are neurodivergent. I think one of the most helpful resources is the Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations. It has so much information tailored to specific needs.

You also might want to look into Disability Access Service (DAS) for your daughter. First, you'll register for this service up to 60 days in advance of your trip by requesting a video chat with a Cast Member. During the video chat, you'll discuss your needs, and the Cast Member will share recommended services. If DAS is provided, you'll complete the registration process while on the video chat. Then, once you've entered the park, you'll use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to select a return time for attractions she wants to experience. She does have to be present and ride each attraction for which a return time is requested. Once you've used your return time to ride, you can select a new return time for a different attraction and so forth and so on throughout the day.

I know you mentioned that your daughter can get overwhelmed, so I have another tip for you to help find quiet areas if she needs to take a break. I've linked information for you on where to find these quiet areas in each of the four theme parks.

Ashley, I hope these resources are helpful to you as you prepare for your trip. We'd love to help you again with any other planning questions you have. Have a fantastic time with your daughter!

    Grab hold of your dreams!
