I am coming with my husband, my three year old daughter, and my five year old son, August 19 2009 to August 25th 2009. My question is it generally very hot that time of year  and very crowded?

Hi, Maria!  August in Orlando generally has only one kind of weather - hot in the morning, a brief afternoon shower, followed by hot in the evening.

You will find August temperatures in the mid 90 degree range throughout August, and it's quite humid.  Evenings cool off to the mid 70s.

I have found in the past that the later in August you go, the lighter the crowds seem to get.  I think because many southern schools and most colleges begin classes towards the end of August, the crowds start to thin out, as parents don't want their kids to miss the first few days of school.  I would think you'll notice towards the end of your vacation, the crowds start to get a little bit lighter.

We are visiting Walt Disney World during that time as well, as our daughter starts college right before you'll be heading home.  Many of my friends with children in southern schools are looking at a start date of August 24th.

Keep well hydrated, alternate outdoor rides and attractions with indoor ones, stay slathered in sunscreen, and have a wonderful vacation!
