Hi Joan! How exciting for your daughter! There is no place better in the world to celebrate your birthday than Walt Disney World! I bring my kids to Walt Disney World on their birthdays every year.
You little princess will have so much fun celebrating her first birthday with Mickey Mouse. I have a couple of suggestions for making the most of your five hours. I would visit
Magic Kingdom, because I think that is the best park for little ones.
First, when you arrive, go to Guest Services and sk for a birthday button. Your daughter will love hearing cast members greet her with "Happy Birthday" throughout your visit.
Make your next stop the Town Square Theater on Main Street, US.A. at Magic Kingdom, because this is the home of the famous mouse himself. Your daughter can meet Mickey Mouse, get his signature and have a picture taken with him.
I also love character meals and think they are a great way for little ones to get one-on-one time with the characters. The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom has Winnie the Pooh and friends. Make an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Make a note on your reservation that it is your daughter's birthday and she will receive Disney magic on the table, as well as a little cupcake with a candle.
After lunch, head over to Fantasyland and allow your daughter to ride Cinderella's Golden Carousel, Dumbo and Mickey's Philharmagic. If you only have time for a few rides, those are my top choices.
Cap off the day with a Mickey Mouse ice cream treat and make sure to take lots of pictures to remember it forever.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!
Magically,
Stacy
