MagicBand+ on Friends; Main Street; pairing

    If I choose a Magicband+ in the app, but others in my room don’t see one they like, will my band stay with my name when the bands change in the app to other bands?

    Hello there Sonya!

    Welcome to planDisney, and I'm so happy to help with your MagicBand+ question today. Can I say something crazy? Using my MagicBand is one of my favorite things about our Disney World vacations! I start wearing mine the morning I leave for the airport (along with my sparkly ears, of course). And sometimes I find myself wearing mine at work for a day or two after we return home. Aaahh... savoring those magical memories!

    If I understand you correctly, I've been in this situation you describe. Sometimes the selection is limited, so only some in my family select a pre-arrival discounted MagicBand+ from the Disney World website to purchase before our trip. It's definitely a nice option that guests are welcome to re-use any MagicBands they already own. You'll notice when you step through the selection and purchase process, that you are also selecting which guest the band is for. So yes! Your new MagicBand+ will stay with your guest name in the app, as well.

    You can actually have multiple linked MagicBands to a guest account. Your other guests should have available any previously linked MagicBands they used in the past. These can be viewed in the My Disney Experience app by selecting the "≡" menu icon in the lower right, then scroll down to Account - MagicBands & Cards. Select a linked guest name to view all of their assigned bands, and even set up a PIN number for charging. This is also where you can see if your MagicBand+ needs updating, and where you can link a new band... if someone in your party finds one they just have to have, while shopping at Disney World!

    The selection of available MagicBand+ do seem to change on a fairly regular basis. Since you have a few months before your arrival, you could wait and check in periodically to see if any new designs pop up that you love.
