Could you check if it's possible to pay the $100 deposit in cash at check-in, or is a credit or debit card always required? If not having a credit or debit card, would it be possible to load money onto a gift card?"

    Hiya Flor,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m sure you are counting the days until your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth! I also have a trip in early September, and right now, I’m preparing to figure out where I want to make advanced dining reservations. It is helping distract me from the fact that I’m not at Walt Disney World enjoying a Mickey pretzel right now.

So on to the great news, Flor. I spoke to Brielle, a Cast Member, who told me that you could use cash to pay for resort hotel incidentals. You would just need to stop by the front desk of your resort hotel when you check in to do so. You can also use a Disney Gift Card! I recommend going with the Disney Gift Card Flor, personally. It is much easier to keep track of when traveling, and if you should misplace your gift card, as long as it is registered, you can transfer the balance of the missing card to a new Disney Gift Card! Ever since my toddler discovered cash (and the fun of throwing it), I’ve appreciated that added level of reassurance. Also, some of the smaller carts throughout Walt Disney World may be unable to accept cash payments, so having a Disney Gift Card will be an asset.

I hope that was helpful, Flor. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning!

I am so excited that you are planning a trip, and I look forward to helping you dig a little deeper and find the magic in all of the wonders of Walt Disney World Resort. Learn More About Ashley
