HEllo, I have purchased disney gift cards for a friend, but can she use disney gift cards for the good neighbor hotels?

    Hello Dorothy,

Thanks for stopping by with a question for us. I love that you have purchased Disney Gift Cards for your friend's upcoming visit. It's such a thoughtful gift and a great way to sprinkle a little pixie dust on her trip!

Your friend can use a Disney Gift Card to book a Room & Ticket Package at any Disney Resorts Collection hotel. In addition, she can use a Disney Gift Card toward her package at select other accommodations. To see which are eligible, hover over "Places to Stay" along the website header and scroll down to "View All" under "More Great Accommodations." She can input her travel dates and party size in the search bar to see which resorts have availability.

In my test search, I selected Fairfield Inn by Marriott at Western Entrance and proceeded through the checkout process to choose my room configuration, number of days of admission, and ticket type. On the final checkout screen, I was able to choose which members of my Friends & Family list were joining and then apply a Disney Gift Card to my package deposit or balance. The option to add a Disney Gift Card or Disney Rewards Redemption Card is just above the Credit/Debit fields.

Keep in mind that only one gift card can be applied per transaction, but she can combine multiple cards up to a total of $1,000 online as I explained to another guest here. If your friend already booked her package through the Walt Disney Travel Company, she can also use a Disney Gift Card to make payments toward her balance until the final payment is due.

If your friend booked her reservation directly through a Good Neighbor Hotel she will not be able to apply a Disney Gift Card to that reservation. She would need to use a credit or debit card or whichever payment method the third-party hotel provider accepts. But don't worry if she's already secured reservations that don't accept her Disney Gift Cards. She'll be able to use them to pay for Lightning Lane Passes, food and merchandise in the parks throughout her trip! I shared some helpful how-to's with another guest here.

Dorothy, I hope this helped. If you or your friend have additional questions please come back and see us again. She can also reach out to a Cast Member by phone for assistance.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
