Welcome back to planDisney, Frankie!
A day at Walt Disney World is an adventure, and having an ECV scooter can make all the difference in ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable visit. When my mother-in-law joined us on a trip, her ECV helped her conserve energy so she could fully enjoy the magic. I’m happy to help you navigate charging options at
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
If you are a guest staying here, then you can charge your ECV right in your resort room using a standard outlet. The rooms at this Deluxe Resort are large enough to park and charge your scooter overnight, making sure you’re powered up for a full day of fun. While some guests may try to charge in the hallway, this is discouraged for safety reasons. Plus, most rental companies ask that you keep the ECV inside your room when not in use. While the lobby might have some outlets, it's not specifically designed as a charging station; however, I recommend talking with a Cast Member at the front desk to see what the options are.
A few handy tips can make your experience even smoother. Bringing a small rubber doorstop can be a lifesaver when getting in and out of your room, as resort doors are quite heavy. Since Florida’s weather can be unpredictable, a durable poncho or plastic cover will help keep your scooter dry in case of sudden rain. And for added comfort, especially in the heat, a small towel on the seat can make a big difference!
If you’re
renting an ECV, you can do so in the parks (only daily rentals are available) or through Disney’s Featured Provider, ScooterBug. If you decide to go through ScooterBug, there’s no need to be present for pickup or return. Disney Resort Cast Members handle the delivery, making it hassle-free.
Oh! And since you’ll be staying at Wilderness Lodge, I wanted to mention that if you’re heading to Magic Kingdom, you can take your ECV right onto the larger
boat that departs from the resort. These boats alternate with smaller launches that don’t accommodate ECVs, so you may need to wait an extra 15–20 minutes, but the relaxing 10-minute ride across the water is a great way to start your day. Buses are also available if that’s more convenient!
I hope this helps, Frankie! If you have any other questions, we’d love to help make your trip as magical as possible. See ya real soon!
