What is the cancellation policy for a room only Disney World reservation?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Bradford!

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question! It sounds like you may be considering a visit to immerse yourself in the magic of Walt Disney World Resort, but are wanting to know the cancelation policy for the Resort portion.  Like you, Bradford, this is often our question when we make reservations, as just like Mary Poppins says, "anything can happen." But, Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." I have just the information you need to know.

Bradford, I double-checked with Guest Services and they told me a thingamabob or two about the cancellation policy. For a Room-Only reservation, the Resort cancellation can be made up to 5 days in advance for a full refund.  From 0-4 days, you lose the cost of a one-night stay (which is the deposit). Please note that policies are always subject to change.  If you need to cancel your Room-Only reservation, you can contact Guest Services to do that for you.

Just for future reference, Bradford, different cancellation policies apply should you book a Vacation Package. If you book your Resort reservation in a Vacation Package, meaning you have your Resort reservation, theme park tickets, Memory Maker, and Enchanting Extras attached to your package, you can cancel the entire package up to 30 days out from your arrival date for a full refund.  From 2 to 29 days, you can cancel but will forfeit a $200 cancelation fee, though prices are subject to change.  If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, unfortunately, that is a complete forfeiture of the entire package cost.

I hope this helps you, Bradford. I am wishing upon a star you won't have to cancel your trip and will get to enjoy your magical Disney vacation. But if you do need to cancel, I hope these answers will help resolve this for you quickly.

If you have any additional questions, stop back and see me here, Bradford.  Here at planDisney, we are your vacation planning 'ohana. 'Ohana means family, and that means nobody gets left behind.
