Hiya Ann!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It sounds like you may be considering a visit to immerse yourself in the magic of Walt Disney World Resort, but are wanting to know the cancelation policy for the Resort portion. While I sure hope you get to enjoy your Disney vacation, we certainly know that things can change and Guests need to make modifications. Hakuna Matata! It means no worries. I have just the information you need to know.
Ann, I double-checked with
Guest Services and this is what I learned. If you book your Resort reservation in a
Vacation Package, meaning you have the option of adding your theme park tickets, Memory Maker, and
Enchanting Extras to your package, you can cancel the entire package up to 30 days out from your arrival date for a full refund. From 2 to 29 days, you can cancel but will forfeit a $200 cancelation fee, though prices are subject to change. If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, unfortunately, that is a complete forfeiture of the entire package cost.
Some people prefer to make their
Resort reservations separately and not in a package. Doing it this way can be more expensive overall. However, different cancellation policies apply. In this case, the Resort cancellation can be made up to 5 days in advance for a full refund, and from 0-4 days, you lose the cost of a one-night stay (which is the deposit). Please note that again, policies are always subject to change.
I hope this helps you, Ann. I will wish upon a star you get to enjoy your magical vacation, but if not, these options may give you some peace of mind when booking your trip in the event you need to cancel. If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, please stop back and
see me here and I'll be most glad to help you out.
See ya real soon!
Keri
