What are the cancellation policies at Disney hotels?

    Hiya, Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your question with us. Hopefully, your future Walt Disney World vacation goes smoothly, and you don’t have to cancel or reschedule, but as Scar from “The Lion King” would advise, it’s always a good idea to be prepared.

I checked the 2026 Terms and Conditions (available here) for the most up-to-date language on Walt Disney World resort hotel cancellations. Here’s the info you need regarding Walt Disney World’s policies (I haven’t included information regarding third-party fees, experience reservations, or travel protection plans).

    - If you cancel your hotel reservation 30 or more days ahead of your arrival, you will be refunded any amounts paid.

    - If you cancel 2 to 29 days ahead of your arrival, there is a cancellation fee of $200 per vacation package.

    - If you cancel 1 day or less ahead of your arrival, or are a no-show, the full price of the reservation is non-refundable.

You can also change your reservation dates rather than cancel, but just be aware that changes made 30 days or less prior to your check-in may be subject to a $50 change fee. Don’t hesitate to call the Hotel & Reservations phone line to talk to a friendly Cast Member if you have questions about these policies or need assistance making changes to your reservation.

As you continue to prep for your vacation, I’d suggest making the Disney Parks Blog a regular stop for the most up-to-date Disney Parks news and updates. They have previews of new experiences, seasonal offers, and other great info, and it’s one of my favorite resources for planning my family’s Disney vacations.

I hope this information helps with your vacation planning, Stephanie. Pop right back if you have more questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!

    Magical travels!
