Hi there, George, and welcome to planDisney!
I love it when a fellow Floridian stops by to ask us a question. Your trip is only a few short sleeps away, so let’s jump right into what you need to know in case you need to change your plans altogether.
Room-only reservations need to be canceled up to 5 days before your arrival date can be canceled up to 5 days before your arrival date without penalty. However, beginning January 1, 2025, this will increase to giving Walt Disney World an 8-day heads up without penalty. If you have a room-only reservation, give the
Hotel Reservation hotline a call as soon as possible. If you are outside of the penalty-free window, you will forfeit your one-night’s stay deposit.
Are you staying on property as a part of a
Disney World Resort Vacation Package? This includes a stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and theme park tickets. If this is your case, you have up to 30 days before your arrival date to get a full refund. Your trip is in less than a week, so, unfortunately, your deposit wouldn’t be returned between the 2- and 29-days window. Hakuna Matata! The good news is that you won’t lose your entire vacation package’s cost like you would if you cancel the day of or the day before.
AN EXTRA GEM: By the way, the
Hotel Reservations—Frequently Asked Questions webpage is a super helpful webpage to help get you on the right path to cancelling your hotel reservation.
George, if you have any other Disney vacation planning questions,
give us a holler here at planDisney. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
