    cancel disneyland reservation

Hey there, Linda. I’m really sorry to hear that you need to cancel your Disneyland Resort plans. I’ve had to do the same recently, and I know how disappointing it feels. The silver lining is that Disneyland will always be waiting for us whenever we’re ready to plan that magical visit again.

Since I’m not sure whether you’re trying to cancel a hotel stay, theme park reservations, or a dining reservation, I’ll walk you through all of them. Thankfully, the Disneyland app makes things pretty simple, and most changes can be handled right from your phone.

For a Disneyland Resort Hotel Room Only reservation, the policy is very flexible! When you booked, you paid a deposit equal to the first night’s room rate plus taxes and fees. As long as you cancel at least four days before your arrival date, that deposit is refunded in full. If you cancel within four days of arrival, the deposit becomes your cancellation fee. You also have the option to adjust your travel dates instead of canceling, which lets you keep your deposit in place and simply move your stay, though room rates can change depending on the dates. You can handle all of this in the “My Hotel Reservations” section of your MyDisney account on the website or the Mobile app where you will see your hotel reservation on the home screen when you open and log in to the app, and the Modify and Cancel buttons will guide you. If you prefer, a Cast Member would be happy to help you. When I had to cancel my own stay, the refund took about five days to show up, though they say it can take up to ten business days.

If you booked a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package that bundles your hotel and theme park tickets, the cancellation rules work a little differently. Packages booked more than 31 days before arrival require a $200 deposit, and the remaining balance is due thirty days before your trip. If you cancel at least thirty days before arrival, you’ll get a full refund, including your deposit. Cancel between four and twenty nine days before your trip, and the deposit becomes the cancellation fee. Cancel within three days of arrival, and unfortunately the package becomes nonrefundable. You can cancel or modify your package right through the app or website, and if you ever need the official details, the Vacation Package Terms and Conditions are always available.

When it comes to theme park tickets, Disneyland does not offer refunds. The good news is that reservations can be rescheduled, and unused tickets usually have a long validity window, giving you time to plan a future visit. To check when your ticket expires, just look at the confirmation email you received at purchase or open the Disneyland app and visit the “Tickets and Passes” section.

Dining reservations are easy to cancel as well. Open the Disneyland app, tap the menu button at the bottom, scroll to Future Plans, and you’ll see a list of your reservations. Select the one you want to cancel, tap “Cancel,” and confirm. That’s all there is to it.

Linda, I’m really sorry your plans changed, but I hope this walkthrough makes everything a little easier. If you need help planning a rescheduled visit or have any other questions, we’re always here to help.

Wishing you a magical visit whenever you’re ready to return.
