I am a California resident and recently applied for a drivers license. I have a provisional permit while I wait for my driver’s test to obtain my license id. Can I use the permit as my id to enter Disneyland? It has my address and my photo on it.

    Welcome to planDisney, Robert!

It looks like your next visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is just around the corner, and I’m delighted to help you put the final touches on your plans!

When it comes to park entry, an ID is not typically required unless you’re using a Southern California resident Magic Key pass or a special ticket offer with residency restrictions. For standard tickets, the first time your ticket is scanned at the entrance, a friendly Cast Member will snap a quick photo of you. This photo becomes linked to your ticket, and from that point forward, your ticket becomes non-transferable so your ticket and your smile are officially part of the Disneyland story!

However, if you’re activating a Southern California resident Magic Key or using a California resident special offer ticket, you will need to provide valid identification showing proof of residency. I checked with Karen Marie, a helpful Cast Member, who confirmed that either a California driver’s license or an official California ID card issued by the DMV will do the trick.

Now, Robert, I couldn’t help but notice that your visit coincides with one of the most delicious events of the year: the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! This is hands down one of my favorite times to visit, when the park transforms into a culinary celebration with food booths serving up creative bites inspired by California’s rich flavors. The official Foodie Guide was recently released, and it’s a feast for the eyes! From returning favorites like the Snickers Macaron to mouthwatering new creations waiting to be discovered.

And here’s a “Q-Tip” you won’t want to miss: Soarin’ Over California is returning for a limited time during the Festival! This nostalgic fan-favorite takes you on a breathtaking flight over iconic California landscapes, complete with signature scents that make the journey even more immersive. It’s a must-do while it’s available!

I hope this helps as you countdown to your magical adventure, Robert! If any more questions pop up, please stop by planDisney again. We’re always happy to help!

Wishing you a visit filled with delicious bites and soaring sights,

    David
