I am buying some military 4 day salute park hopper tickets for 9-12 November. Is it possible to check of the park had opening before buying the tickets?

    Hiya, Richard! Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like you’re planning a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, at the most magical time of year! Holiday decorations typically start going up around property right after Halloween. You’ll be able to take advantage of some festive fun during your vacation!

To answer your question, Richard, select types of tickets do require Theme Park Reservations, such as Disney Military Salute Tickets. In my experience, reservations are readily available throughout the year. The exception would be the busiest days of the year, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day, or significant events like the opening of a new attraction. Personally, I have never had trouble booking reservations for the theme park I was wanting to visit. I’ve even made changes while on vacation, and sometimes on the day itself!

Please note that I visited the Walt Disney World Resort website to check for Theme Park Reservation availability, and as of this writing, the reservation calendar only stretches to September 23, with every theme park being available to book every day between now and then. Dates are constantly being added as time advances, so I strongly suggest checking back often to see when your travel dates open up for reservations.

With all of that said, you can purchase your tickets with confidence that you’ll be able to make reservations for the theme park you want to visit, on each day of your trip. This is not a guarantee, but given your travel dates, all signs point to you being good to go!

Walt Disney World Resort is so magical during the holiday season. My personal favorite offering during this time is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This is held on select nights in November and December, and it’s such a fun time! Plus, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays should be underway during your visit. My favorite is the Holiday Cookie Stroll, where you purchase five cookies from the Holiday Kitchens throughout the park, and get rewarded with another cookie for your efforts!

I hope this answers your question, Richard. If you have any other questions as your vacation approaches, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at planDisney. We’re always happy to help!

    See you real soon!
