Hi, I'd like to visit just after Christmas 2027. When is the best time to plan? Also, there are 2 adults and 3 children (6, 8 and 11). Which resort has rooms large enough for 5 or interconnecting rooms? Thank you!

    Hiya, Julie! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by with your question. In my opinion, you’re planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort at the most magical time of year. Yes, the theme parks are magical at any time of year. But with that festive cheer in the air, it takes things to the next level!

It’s never too early to start planning your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Julie. Especially coming from the UK, it’s a big vacation, so planning well in advance will definitely serve you well. Having said that, I visited the UK Walt Disney World Resort website, and it is still a touch early to be booking a vacation for December of 2027. In the meantime, I would check back often. It’s also a good idea to bookmark Disney Parks Blog in your web browser to keep up with updates directly from the source! The Disney Parks social pages are also a great resource for up-to-date information.

In terms of resort options for your travel party, there are so many to choose from! The Disney Resorts Collection hotels do have connecting rooms. Having said that, they are limited and not guaranteed. This is something that you are able to request once you have made your reservation. In my experience, Cast Members will do everything they can to accommodate reasonable requests.

The resorts are divided into three categories: Value Resort Hotels, Moderate Resort Hotels, and Deluxe Resort Hotels. Value is the most budget friendly option, and the average price per night increases from there. Each category of resort offers rooms, and some also offer family suites that can accommodate your party of five.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, which are Value Resort Hotels, both offer family suites that can accommodate up to 6 Guests. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has 1 Bedroom Suites that can accommodate up to 6 Guests as well. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside have rooms that feature a 5th sleeper, which is a small pulldown bed that’s appropriate for a younger child. We stayed in one of these rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort recently, and we loved it!

All of the Deluxe Resort Hotels feature Suites, Deluxe Studios, and Villas that can accommodate 5 Guests or more. My personal favorite is Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The Stormalong Bay pool area is amazing. We absolutely love it!

There really are so many options that it can be difficult to choose. Each resort will have a “Resort Overview” link that will include a brief description of the resort along with some photos. This can definitely be a good way to familiarize yourself with your different options. My fellow Panelists have also hosted several Resort Guides, where they go into detail on select resorts. You can find these on the Disney Parks YouTube channel. I may be biased, but they’ve done a great job! They’re great people with a ton of Disney knowledge and experience!

I hope you’ve found this helpful, Julie! I’m so excited for you to come visit during the holiday season. I’m confident you and your family will have a wonderful time! If you have any other questions during the planning process, please come back and see us here at planDisney! We’re always happy to help!

    Happy planning!
