Hey there, Gregory!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Let’s make a splash with your question!
It sounds like you’re planning to take advantage of the new
Water Park Benefit that comes with your Disney Resort hotel stay. What an awesome way to start your vacation! Kicking back at
Disney’s Blizzard Beach or
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon with a Mai Tai in hand sounds like the perfect way to chill while waiting for your room to be ready.
Currently, there’s no direct bus from
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to either of the water parks, but don’t worry as it’s still smooth sailing! If you’re headed to Blizzard Beach, the quickest route is to hop on a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and transfer to a Blizzard Beach bus there. For Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll want to take a bus to Disney Springs first and then switch to a Typhoon Lagoon bus. You can find detailed information on the
Bus Transportation page on the Walt Disney World website.
Here's a planDisney tip: Disney’s water parks operate on a rotational schedule, meaning one is open while the other undergoes maintenance. Historically, Typhoon Lagoon tends to be the go-to park in the spring and summer months, while Blizzard Beach takes over in the late fall and winter. While this is always subject to change, chances are Typhoon Lagoon will be making waves during your visit!
If you’re planning to arrive later in the day, keep in mind that lounge chairs are first come, first served. To guarantee a shady spot, consider reserving
Beachcomber Shacks (at Typhoon Lagoon) or
Polar Patios (at Blizzard Beach) for a cabana-style experience with cushioned seating and a dedicated service attendant. Another option is the
reserved lounge chair sets, which come with an umbrella, two lounge chairs, and two beach chairs for a little extra comfort.
Hope this helps, Gregory! Wishing you a splashtacular visit, and if you have any other questions, I’m all ears!
