Jeremy from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I want to build a lightsaber. Is it ok for me to bring my two year old daughter with me as a guest?

Bright suns, Jeremy! Welcome to planDisney where we wield our lightsabers for good. You'll arrive for your Walt Disney World Resort adventure soon, and I see a journey to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is on your itinerary. Let's talk about having your padawan accompany you while you construct your very own saber.

I chatted with a Cast Member from Batuu about spectator age limits at Savi's Workshop, and she said five is the recommended minimum. However, if you bring another older guest, the two-year-old might be able to come as a bonus. Your spectator will supervise your daughter during the build since only you can interact with the Gatherer.

Space is limited in the workshop, so strollers are typically left outside. The process takes about half an hour, and your spectator will be behind you during the experience. Most guests who desire to create a Force weapon will want to concentrate and focus, so minimizing distractions is encouraged.

I wish I had a concrete answer for you, but the final decision regarding this experience is always at the Cast Member's discretion. They might ask your daughter and other guest to wait for you outside the workshop, so I recommend having alternate plans ready.

Even though I'm the Star Wars fan in my family, my husband was blown away by how immersive Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is. We always feel like we've stepped into a galaxy far, far away. One of my favorite hidden gems is to visit this area of Disney's Hollywood Studios after dark. The moody lighting feels mysterious; anything can happen! Look for the Disney PhotoPass photographer near Oga's Cantina to pose with a glowing lightsaber in a tucked-away nook. Just keep your eyes open for the First Order...

Jeremy, I'm wishing on a star in a distant solar system that you'll have a magical time. Please stop by planDisney, and may the Force be with you!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
