Hi Andrea! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
The Disneyland Resort is dedicated to being a welcoming and inclusive destination for all Guests, including those with disabilities. There are a variety of accommodations, services, and tools available to Guests to ensure your visit is as magical and worry-free as possible. For more information about visiting the parks while navigating a disability, please visit the
Accessibility page. This can aid in planning for your visit.
You might be particularly interested in the section tailored to Guests who are
neurodivergent. I've visited with an uncle who found loud noises triggering, and the
Sensory Experience Details guide is extremely helpful in guiding our choices of which Attractions we might want to skip, for example.
Disability Access Service is another resource available to some Guests with autism or similar disabilities. This service allows Guests who can't tolerate waiting in a traditional queue to enjoy the parks while waiting for a return window. This can include resting in a peaceful area, enjoying a snack, or taking in Entertainment. Your brought might qualify.
To determine whether your brother qualifies for DAS, you can chat online with a friendly Cast Member. Your brother will need to be present for this conversation. Bring any questions you have to this discussion, including concerns about your brother's needs when it comes to Attractions and Entertainment. Each situation is unique. You can also have this conversation in person at the Accessibility Services Kiosk located in the Esplanade between the parks. Even if your brother is not eligible for DAS, the Cast Member can recommend resources for enjoying the park that should help make the day a grand success.
In addition to Meet & Greet locations like Meet Disney Princesses at Royal Hall in Fantasyland or Mickey Mouse, who meets Guests at Mickey's House in Mickey's Toontown, you'll find many Characters roaming the parks. We recently ran across more than a half-dozen during a day at Disneyland Park. Somehow, it's extra magical to stumble across Pinocchio in Fantasyland, but you can also use the
Disneyland mobile app to locate roaming Characters if you'd like to make a plan for those must-meet Characters.
Change the selection at the top of the map to "Characters" and look for the Mickey Mouse icons. Tapping an icon will bring up the Characters you can expect to find in that area and at what times they should be around. While these are subject to change and cancellation, they can help make those magical encounters happen while also skipping a long line.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
