My boys ages 10 & 11. I'd love to run the Castaway 5K (if they are still doing this) Is it ok for them stay on the boat while we run this? If I recall from previous cruises, the kids club doesn't open up that early.

Thank you for sailing by the Disney Parks Moms Panel Karen!

I am sure the excitement is growing as your Disney Cruise Line vacation gets closer.  In a couple short months you'll be sailing away on your magical adventure!

Castaway Cay may very well be my favorite place on the planet away from home.  Where else can you feel like you have your own island to explore, snorkel, get up close and personal with stingrays, hang out with Mickey Mouse and Goofy and enjoy a great Caribbean style barbeque all in the same day?  It is a great way to kick off your Castaway day by running the Castaway Cay 5K!

Participating in the Castaway Cay 5K allows you to be one of the first guests to take those first steps onto this beautiful island paradise.  Check your Disney Cruise Line Personal Navigator to find the race start time and location.  Use the early start to take your boys over to Scuttle's Cove to spend the morning with the Disney Counselors enjoying the sun, sand and water while you finish the race.  Pick them up after you earn your medal, cool off in the crystal blue waters, relax and grab a drink - you've earned it!

Since you are debarking the ship early, why not stop by the Castaway Cay Post Office and send a message in a bottle back home as a great souvenir from your adventure?  My kids love to have that little reminder of their day in the sun and the unique experience of receiving mail from Castaway Cay!

Good luck with the 5K - you got this Karen!  Angie
