Hiya Kinsey, welcome to planDisney!
You've come to the right place with your question about correctly linking My Disney Experience accounts before your September visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Speaking from experience, asking a similar question at Guest Relations during a park day loses precious minutes that would be better spent experiencing thrilling attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom Park or eating delicious snacks like a Lunch Box Tart from Woody's Lunch Box in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
It sounds like your boyfriend has a My Disney Experience account profile managed by your account as well as a separate, independent account. This is definitely the case if you see the words "Plans Managed by Me" next to your boyfriend's name on your Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience. Assuming that's the case, follow these steps to merge his account profile managed by you with his account connected to his email address:
- Click "Update" next to your boyfriend's name on your Family & Friends list.
- Click "Share planning with [boyfriend's first name]" in the upper right corner of the Update Information box.
- Enter your boyfriend's email address and click "Continue."
- Ask your boyfriend to accept the email invitation to connect.
Once your boyfriend accepts the email invitation to connect, all of the vacation entitlements housed in your account will transfer to his account. You will remain connected as Family & Friends, which means you can still view and make plans for each other during your trip. You'll know you've been successful when the words "Plans managed by me" no longer appear next to your boyfriend's name on your Family & Friends list.
If I misunderstood your situation, Kinsey, please follow up with me
directly and let me know exactly what you're seeing in your My Disney Experience accounts. I'd love to help make your trip as magical and Stitch-free as possible!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
