I bought park tickets to visit Disneyland for the holidays. I am very interested in purchasing a Magic Key however I would like to know if I can upgrade my ticket when Magic Key Sales resume?

Hi Brian! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

I can understand why you'd be hoping to get more access to the magic, perks, and discounts. I love my Magic Key, and I bet you'd enjoy yours too. They're all different, so be sure you're choosing the one that's right for your needs. That includes the all-important Blockout dates. You wouldn't want to be blocked out during your upcoming trip to experience the magic of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. Prices and terms are subject to change.

You should be able to upgrade your existing ticket to a Magic Key if they're available. Information about upgrades can be found in the Buying Guide, which is a handy thing to read through prior to sales opening. A partially used ticket can be upgraded from the Disneyland mobile app. Just be sure to do so before midnight on the final day of use. You pay the difference in full at the time of purchase. Availability may be limited and isn't guaranteed.

However, it sounds like your visit hasn't started yet and your ticket is wholly unused. Wholly unused tickets can't be upgraded online or in the app. I'm sorry if that's not convenient! Instead, Guests must visit the main ticket booths to complete the upgrade. If you're not local and getting to the main ticket booth area isn't possible until your visit, you can keep your fingers crossed that a Magic Key is still available at the time of purchase. Otherwise, try to make your way over there early. There could be waits. People are looking forward to the reopening of sales!

    I hope this helps.
