I am going to be booking LL for our party of 7. My in-laws do not want to ride all the rides. Is the best plan to book the big/high demand rides as a group first and then modify as we go? Is it possible to get the same times together if we book separately?

Hey there! Hi there, Jaynee! The countdown to your trip to Walt Disney World is in single digits. Hot dog! When it's time to start planning Lightning Lane passes, I get so excited because it means it won't be long before Mickey and Minnie welcome you to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Traveling with extended family is sure to create magical core memories! I am so glad you came to planDisney so we can help you plan your Lightning Lane Multi Pass strategy to meet the different interests of your family members.

When going through the steps to buy a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you select the date, theme park, Guests, and three attractions to enjoy. The attractions at the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are divided into two groups. You can pick one from the first group and two (or all three) from the other group. If you are going to have a wild time at Animal Kingdom, you can pick any of the attractions that offer a Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

You could do separate transactions based on the rides each group wants to experience, and try to coordinate the times for the rides everyone wants to do together. You can get the same or overlapping return times, but it is not guaranteed.

It might be easier to make the initial purchase for everyone in the same group and then modify passes for people. Once you have purchased your pass, you can open the Lightning Lane tile on the My Disney Experience app, select the pass that your in-laws do not want to do, and follow the prompts to modify it. You will be given options to change the time or the attraction. As you go through the steps, you will be prompted to select the Guest(s) for whom the change is to apply, making it easy to opt out of rides they don't want to do, while staying together for the others. With this, you will all have the same return times for the rides you want to do together. And if you need to adjust the time for any reason, it will be easier to modify your plans and stay together.

I should also add that once you redeem your first pass, you can pick additional attractions from any available experience. If everyone in your group is eligible to book another pass, you can choose to include everyone or just the people who want to enjoy the attraction.

Jaynee, I am so excited that all of your dreaming and planning is about to turn into magical moments! If you have any other questions as you put the finishing touches on your vacation, know you have a friend in planDisney!

    See 'Ya Real Soon!
