Hello we are coming to Disney world the first week of January 2025. We have a huge family and we have booked 6 separate rooms, one of each family. If we wanted to purchase the dining plan does each family have to purchase it? Or could 1 single purchase it?

Hey there, Jesse, and welcome to planDisney! I couldn't be more excited for you and your family to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth! I absolutely love traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with my large, extended family. We have the very best time making memories together, and I know you will, too!

Jesse, you'll be happy to know that you can choose to add a dining plan to one of the room reservations if it is a separate reservation. I reached out to a helpful Cast Member who advised that you don't duplicate any of your family members' names on any of the reservations. Each person in the room will be included on the dining plan, and the dining plan will be the same for each person on that reservation.

I have to admit that I'm a huge fan of dining plans at Walt Disney World Resort! They make your vacation feel more all-inclusive, and it's great to be able to plan in advance and take advantage of the value they provide. I particularly enjoy the Disney Dining Plan because I enjoy having a set time to relax around a table of delicious food each day of my vacation. My kiddos need that time to recharge, too!

Here are a few thoughts about dining with a large party. First, remember that you're welcome to dine alongside your family members regardless of whether they have a dining plan or not. You'll just want to let your Server know which members of your party will be using a dining plan at that time, and you'll all be billed accordingly. In addition, you're welcome to make Advance Dining Reservations for table service restaurants with anyone, whether they're using a dining plan or not. I actually highly recommend making reservations in advance due to the size of your party. Many dining locations might not be able to accommodate very large parties at one table, but you can always split your party into smaller groups and make reservations around the same time, so that you can keep a similar schedule. You're able to make reservations 60 days before the day you check in to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, so go ahead and set that alarm!

Lastly, be sure that everyone in your party is connected in Family & Friends in your My Disney Experience Mobile App. That way, you can keep track of what everybody is up to, whether it's dining or specific attractions! If one of you has Memory Maker, that person will be able to download unlimited photos of up to 25 Family & Friends, including photos from attractions and other PhotoPass photos. You might consider booking a Capture Your Moment photo session to ensure that you have a dedicated time and place to get some great group photos!

Jesse, I hope this is helpful as you continue to plan your vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have!

    See you real soon!
