    booking grand California through DVC

Welcome Home, Kathleen, and welcome to planDisney! It's always a great day when I get to chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, and I'll be happy to help with your vacation planning questions. Let's get right to it!

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is such an amazing spot. It offers practically perfect accommodations, great dining options, a world-class spa, AND a dedicated theme park entrance! During my last trip to Disneyland Resort with some of my planDisney pals, I had the opportunity to dine at Napa Rose and enjoy a much-needed massage at Tenaya Stone Spa - both were incredible experiences!

Kathleen, I did a quick search for available accommodations with your check-in date at the Grand Californian, as well as The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. There is no availability showing for any studios or villas at either property. Your best best is to create a Waitlist for your preferred accommodations. To do this, start by logging into the Member website, then select "Plan Vacation", followed by "Book Vacation" from the drop-down menu options. This will take you to a search page where you can enter your travel party and dates, and filter your desired resorts to just include the California properties.

The search results will list each type of accommodation and indicate "Waitlist Only" status. You'll want to click into the specific studio or villa you are hoping for, which will show how many Vacation Points are required for each night. Select "Continue to Waitlist" and follow the prompts. You can set your Waitlist to expire 31 or 7 days prior to your October dates, and you can have two active Waitlists per Use Year - so you can use both for different room types at the Grand Californian to maximize your chances. While there's no guarantee that a Waitlist will come through, Guests' plans change all the time, so it's always good to try!

I will be crossing my fingers that a Waitlist comes through for your October travels! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, Kathleen, and please don't hesitate to reach out to planDisney again if we can help with any other questions.
