I booked a vacation March 9-12 at the Wild Kingdom Resort and was hoping to get 3 tickets to the Wild African Trek but they are already booked! I'm so disappointed. Will we still be able to get a good view of the animals just walking around the park?

    Jambo Rebecca!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney. You are about to stay at one of my homes away from home, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! We are Disney Vacation Club members, and Kidani Village is our first love - mainly because of the animals! During your stay, visit Jambo House's main overlook outside Sana'a. The Arusha Savannah has giraffes, zebras, ankole cattle, and more!

The Wild Africa Trek is such a unique experience, allowing guests an up close and magical encounter with the OG residents of Animal Kingdom, but no worries! You can see your animal hosts from many different spots in the Park. Let's meander through some of them:

-Kilimanjaro Safaris is a "global" version of the Wild Africa Trek. On your safari, you will encounter all of the residents of the savanna as well as birds, crocodiles, and more!
-Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is one of my family's favorite spots to relax and cool off. The trails take you past various animals, including meerkats, zebras, and magnificent apes.
-If big cats are more to your liking, the Maharaja Jungle Trek is for you! Gorgeous tigers, buffalo, flying foxes, and over 50 species of birds await!
-Speaking of birds, stop by Anandapur Theater to watch Feathered Friends in Flight, a truly jaw-dropping show featuring free-flying birds! Years ago, after one show, our kiddos talked to the animal behavioral specialists. I am convinced this solidified my daughter's decision to become a vet! Also, keep an eye out for the macaw show that's held throughout the day in front of the Tree of Life. It is awesome!
-Conservation Station is probably one of the best "hidden" gems in the Park. You will take a train up to an area with an animal hospital where you can view routine animal care and a petting station. Beware of the goats! They love to nibble.

Besides these specific encounters, as you wander through the Park, you will see other animal friends in the Oasis (the tropical paths that lead you into the Park) and Discovery Island (another place with quiet, cool benches for animal viewing). Rebecca, I hope you have a fabulous time visiting Animal Kingdom. Say hello to my besties for me!
