I have booked 4 reservations for May30-Jun4. For 3 of the reservations I was able to get Villas at Grand Floridian, but 1 room is in Grand Floridian Resort. How will this affect our family vacation? Should I switch all reservations to Grand Floridian

    Hi Sidra,

I'm so happy you trusted planDisney with your question! Thanks for stopping by.

First, it sounds to me like you are planning an incredible vacation for a large group of friends and family. How exciting! I'm confident you will find the elegance and convenience of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to be perfect for your upcoming vacation. Now let's get right to it.

I can see that you are concerned about splitting your group into two different areas of the Resort hotel. Well, I have great news! In my opinion, this is a very walkable place. Everything is fairly close together and the paths connecting the buildings are very well maintained, as expected from Disney! Plus, since there is always something beautiful to catch your eye as you stroll (like a fountain, a pool, The Seven Seas Lagoon, and more) it simply doesn't feel like walking requires much effort.

If you reserved Resort Studios for your Guests in the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, they will be located in Big Pine Key. I consider this building to be in the heart of the Resort hotel. All other Villa configurations will be in the main Villas building on the other side of the Beach Pool. It might look distant on the map, but it is really very close. Also, these Guests will have either a kitchenette (in a Deluxe Studio) or a full, well-stocked kitchen along with a washer & dryer! These can really level-up a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

The Guests in your group that are reserved in the Resort hotel side will be in any of the remaining five buildings. They will find themselves a little closer to the dining and entertainment of the Grand Lobby, and the convenience of the Resort Monorail to Magic Kingdom Park

Sidra, I wouldn't change a thing. If your family is anything like mine, everyone is going to love a slightly different part of the experience anyhow. You might as well give yourselves the opportunity to explore the entire gorgeous Resort hotel!

Quick Tip: If you return "Home" after a long day and want something tasty without being too heavy, I'm a big fan of a late-night Mobile Order from Gasparilla Island Grill. I place the order from the convenience of my phone and pick it up on the way to my building for the evening. I recommend the Gourmet Grilled Cheese served with Tomato Bisque. It's so good!

I hope that is helpful, Sidra. Come back and visit us if any other questions pop up for you. We will be here!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
