    If I book a skyliner resort and Disney anounces the skyliner will be undergoing mantanance during my stay, can I change hotels free of charge? I appreciate a bus service will be put on, however, I'd prefer to stay somewhere else if it's closed.

    Hi there, Lorna! It's so great to see you again at planDisney--I hope our advice has been helpful in the past for your planning purposes. I'm happy to chat about your 2025 Walt Disney World Resort vacation and how any planned refurbishments may affect you. Let's get right to it!

    Because The Most Magical Place on Earth is open 365 days a year, renovations and refurbishments are often scheduled during times when crowd levels are a bit lower. Currently, there is no information available regarding anticipated closures for the Disney Skyliner in January, but based on past years this airborne transportation option may be offline for a period that month. I recommend checking later in the fall as information may be released closer to that time. As you noted, complimentary Walt Disney World bus transportation is provided for these resorts to ensure you can get anywhere you need to!

    In the meantime, if you do choose to stay at a Resort Hotel on the Skyliner route, you can easily modify your reservation to a different resort if maintenance is announced before your arrival. You can phone or change your reservation via your My Disney Experience account. It's important to note, Lorna, that there is not any sort of penalty fee for changing resorts. However, if you were to move your reservation to a different category of resort--think switching from Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Value) to Disney's Contemporary Resort (Deluxe)--there could potentially be an associated cost depending on the accommodations you choose.
