Hi Anissa, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney!
It sounds like you’ve got an extra magical vacation in your future! I visit Disney World a lot with my big extended family and often book multiple rooms for us. There isn’t a way to do it online in a single transaction, but Hakuna Matata! I’d be happy to walk you through the steps to reserve the rooms you need.
Before we get into booking, the process will be easier if all the adult guests in your party create a
MyDisney account. You can then add them to your
Family & Friends List. This not only helps with your hotel booking, but also lets you reserve
Lightning Lane Passes and
dining reservations for each other.
Once you’re all connected, you can go ahead and book the first
Disney Resort hotel room. After that’s done, book the second room separately, but when you’re checking out be sure to indicate that you’d like rooms nearby or with a connecting door (if that’s something you’d like to request). You’ll see under Room & Amenity Requests, None Selected is the default. Click Change and you’ll be able to pick Nearby Room or With Connecting Door. Alternatively, you can always add a request by calling the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone number. Room requests aren’t guaranteed, but Cast Members will try their hardest to grant your wish!
There’s also another room type that you might be interested in exploring. When I’m visiting Disney World with my extended family, we sometimes book a 2 Bedroom Villa at one of the many
Deluxe Villa resort hotels. These villas can be more expensive than booking two separate standard hotel rooms, but the layout is perfect for a large group. My family loves hanging out together in the living room and full kitchen, away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. The 2 Bedroom Villas also have multiple bathrooms and a washer and dryer—a lifesaver if you’re traveling with kiddos!
I also wanted to share a tip that has come in handy when booking dining reservations for a large group. Sometimes it’s hard to find reservations for parties larger than six, so my sister and I will each book a smaller reservation for the same time (or within 15 minutes of each other). When we check into the restaurant, we’ll let the Cast Member know we’d like to sit together, if possible. Most times they're able to accommodate us at the same table or nearby tables.
I hope this helps you book the practically perfect rooms for your vacation! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
