If I want to book lightening lane for the day (preselect 3) and single lightening lane for tier 1 individual pay rides, how should I do this on my opening window morning at 7am? Meaning do I purchase my tier 1 rides 1st, or do I purchase 3 general LL 1st?

Hi Shannon, and welcome back to planDisney! My family loves Lightning Lane Passes for maximizing our time in the parks. So let’s chat about the best way to make your selections!

Disney makes it really easy for you to book all of your Lightning Lane Passes for the day in one transaction, so you don’t have to decide whether to buy Multi Pass or Single Pass first. In the My Disney Experience app, you’ll usually see a Lightning Lane tile on the home screen. Press the Purchase button and select your visit date on the calendar. On the next screen, you can expand the parks and check the boxes for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and up to two Lightning Lane Single Pass rides. Then you’ll be prompted to choose three Multi Pass attractions. On the next page, you can modify the times and check out. If you’re park hopping, keep in mind that your three pre-booked Multi Pass selections need to be in the same park, but you can choose two Single Pass attractions in different parks.

If you don’t see a button to purchase Lightning Lane Passes on the home screen of the app, go to ☰ in the lower right corner and then Lightning Lane Passes. This may prompt you to choose between purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass, but it doesn’t matter which button you press. Both will take you to the same step I mentioned above where you’ll check off the Multi Pass and Single Pass attractions that you want to buy.

If everyone in your crew doesn’t want to do the same Single Pass attractions (for instance, some of my family members skip thrill rides like TRON and Guardians of the Galaxy), you’ll need to buy the Single Passes separately from Multi Pass. This is because the selections need to be the same for everyone in a given transaction.

Before I go, I wanted to share some tips for getting the most out of your Lightning Lane Passes! First, if an attraction runs out of Lightning Lane availability, Hakuna Matata! Other guests are always changing their plans, so keep checking the My Disney Experience app since an attraction that was previously unavailable might pop up.

Second, don’t forget that Lightning Lane Multi Pass comes with complimentary downloads of select attraction photos and videos. My family loves these action shots even more than our castle photos! And it’s easy to download pictures on the go to share with friends and family.

I’m wishing you a magical time at Disney World next week! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
