Welcome aboard, Vicki! I see you’re taking a cue from Moana and answering the call of the sea with a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. Great idea! I bet even Maui would approve.
I’m sorry that your
Disney Port Adventure was canceled. I experienced a similar situation during our visit to France a few years ago. While it's certainly disappointing, Disney Cruise Line has everyone's safety in mind.
You may book another Port Adventure or explore on your own. I went to the Blue Lagoon Island website, and they have a notice for Disney Cruise Line passengers to visit the ship’s
Port Adventures Desk for further assistance. You could ask what they recommend while you are on board. If you choose to arrange your own excursion, keep in mind that you have to take a ferry to Blue Lagoon Island, so you'll want to pay close attention to the all-aboard time.
If you have your heart set on interacting with marine life, you could see if the
Atlantis Dolphin Cay Dip ‘N’ Discover and Aquaventure is available. Atlantis is also easy to get to from the ship. My family enjoyed the
Seaworld Explorer Semi-Submarine when my son was little. We saw lots of fish and stayed cool and dry.
My favorite island to explore is
Disney Castaway Cay! Bring a few sand toys, find a relaxing lounge chair under an umbrella, and enjoy the view! There are character appearances, a delicious BBQ lunch, and plenty of family-friendly entertainment to keep everyone busy. You can rent inner tubes and floats before you set sail or once you’re on the island. If you’re looking for adventure, rent bikes and climb the observation tower for a bird’s eye view of the island and a great picture of your Disney ship.
