What is the beat way to get from Orlando Airport to Bay Lake Tower resort?

Hi Christopher! I’m so happy to welcome you to planDisney. We're a group of Disney Guests just like you who love helping plan magical vacations, so you’ve come to the right place!

You have made an excellent choice with Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. You simply can’t beat the convenience! It’s just a short walk to Magic Kingdom, and a monorail stop is also nearby in the main building at the Contemporary Resort. Let’s take a look at the options to get you to your resort from Orlando International Airport and start your vacation smoothly!

Since you are staying at a Deluxe Villa resort, your first option is Minnie Van™ Service. This option is only available as airport transportation for Guests at Deluxe Resorts and offers many benefits. What I love most is that Minnie Vans are driven by trained Disney Cast Members. They are so friendly and helpful and really make the ride an enjoyable experience. They will pick you up right outside baggage claim, which means quick service and less stress at the airport. Minnie Vans can transport up to six Guests and can provide up to three car seats. Minnie Van service currently costs $249 (subject to change) and can be reserved up to 60 days in advance.

If you’re looking for a more on-demand service that doesn’t have to be scheduled in advance, you could use a rideshare such as Lyft. This will also pick you up near baggage claim. However, one important consideration is that you would need to travel with your own car seats, if you are traveling with children.

The most affordable option is Mears motorcoach service. This is located on the lower level on the opposite side of the terminal from baggage claim and can be reserved in advance on the Mears website. This option is reliable and saves money, but it is not necessarily direct-to-resort and can take longer. Each motor coach carries Guests from multiple resorts. That means you may have to wait longer while the buses are loaded and Guests are dropped off at other resort hotels. This is an important consideration if you’re on a tight schedule or want to get the magic started as quickly as possible.

Christopher, I hope this helps you get rolling smoothly at the start of your vacation! If you have any more questions, be sure to come back and see us here at planDisney. We’re always here to help and love adding extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning!

    Your pal,
    Casey
