We are attending Disney World but not staying on Disney property. We were hoping to attend an event in Magic Kingdom that is scheduled for 10:30 pm. Will we be able to attend that since it is technically after park hours? Can we leave and re-enter in 1 day?

    Hi, Jessica!

Thanks for visiting us with your question. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just a few short days away, and I'm so excited for you! Let's talk through everything your theme park admission includes.

Standard theme park tickets will grant you standby access to all available attractions, entertainment, Character meet-and-greets, and more from official park opening to park closing. You'll find a variety of attractions for thrill-seekers like TRON Lightcycle / Run, which will get your heart pumping and hair blowing, plus plenty of experiences suitable for guests of any age or height. You'll also enjoy incredible entertainment like the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, which showcases fan favorite characters, larger-than-life (and beautifully themed) floats, and an earworm of a soundtrack as the performers make their way down Main Street, U.S.A.

Magic Kingdom Park always takes priority when my family heads to Disney World, as we can't get enough of those castle views and classic attractions, not to mention my very favorite nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After, to cap off the night. You'll be glad to know that you can enter and exit Magic Kingdom as often as you like on your ticketed day, within scheduled park hours. This has come in handy for my family on a few occasions when warm weather had us craving a dip in our resort pool, or a snack was calling from outside the park. Many families with young children also take a midday break for nap time, which helps everyone have a more magical day.

I took a look at the upcoming Hours & Events calendar based on your arrival date and noted that Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park is scheduled on May 25, 2026. This is a separately ticketed event which requires an additional purchase beyond standard admission. You can review available dates and pricing and complete your purchase here. If you've already secured tickets, you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 7 pm EST, though the event officially begins at 10 pm EST. Guests without tickets will be directed toward the park exit as the event officially kicks off.

I also noted that Extended Evening Theme Park Hours were scheduled for May 27. This extra late-night park time is a benefit for guests with reservations at eligible resorts. Since you won't be staying on the property for this visit, you won't be able to linger during those hours. Cast Members will begin confirming resort reservations and escorting guests out of the park once the lights come up after the fireworks that night.

Jessica, I hope this clears up any confusion. If I've misunderstood your question or still need additional guidance, please come back and let us know. Wishing you a fabulous vacation!

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
