How to get from art of animation to chef Mickey for a 8:45 am reservation?

    Hello there, Megan!

Welcome to planDisney, we’re so happy to have you. I love your choice of breakfast. Chef Mickey’s is so much fun, and it brings me back to my childhood. Disney’s Contemporary Resort was the resort my family stayed at the very first time we went to Walt Disney World. I remember getting off the plane and heading there. We were all so hungry, and my dad said the food was just downstairs. Never did I think we would be dining with Mickey and all his Pals so close to Magic Kingdom. I remember sitting there thinking about what the rest of the week would look like, never imagining that I would be here sharing that memory with you! So I can’t wait to hear all about the core memories you’ll get to make during this visit.

Now, when it comes to getting there, you have a few options. My first recommendation is to take a look at Magic Kingdom’s park hours for the day of your reservation. Buses to the theme parks begin running 45 minutes before opening. So if the theme park hours align with your dining reservation, I recommend hopping on the bus to Magic Kingdom, then taking the walkway to the Contemporary to get to Chef Mickey’s. It's just a quick five to ten-minute walk from the bus station to the resort.

Another option you have is to take a Minnie Van from Art of Animation to the Contemporary. I just love cruising through Walt Disney World Resort in a Minnie Van. They are so cute, and the Cast Members who drive them are so knowledgeable. Plus, if you are visiting with little ones who need a car seat, Minnie Vans have car seats available to use.

After breakfast, if you are heading to Magic Kingdom for the day, I recommend taking the walkway into the theme park. Again, it’s such a short walk, you’ll be there in no time. You can also take the scenic route and hop on the Monorail that takes you around to the front entrance. Even though this option takes a little longer, it’s my son’s preference because he just loves the monorail.

Megan, I hope this helps answer your question about transportation. If there’s anything else I can help with, just let me know!

Have the best visit and see ya real soon.

Meet the Panelist: Shantel, Alabama

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
