Hi and welcome to planDisney, Paul!
Visiting the Disneyland Resort with your extended family sounds like an incredible adventure! When my daughters visited the Resort for the first time, we brought our extended family along, and it was truly an unforgettable trip filled with laughter, memories, and a little extra pixie dust.
Unfortunately,
Disney MagicMobile is currently unavailable at the
Disneyland Resort. However, I want to assure you that you still have some fantastic options to make accessing the parks and attractions seamless. You can use the
Disneyland App on your mobile device to scan into the theme parks and redeem Lightning Lane return times. Plus, if you have a
MagicBand+ from Walt Disney World, you can bring it along and use it at Disneyland Resort! If you haven’t purchased one yet, I highly recommend it. Not only does it make scanning into the parks and Lightning Lanes more convenient, but it also adds a touch of magic with interactive features. For instance, your MagicBand+ may light up and vibrate during spectaculars like
Fantasmic! and even within certain attractions. Personally, I love the eerie red glow mine gives off at the end of the
Haunted Mansion; a playful little reminder to “hurry back!”
The Disneyland App also makes it easy to link your party’s tickets and Lightning Lane access, no matter what type of ticket each person has. Here’s how to set it up:
Log in to your My Disney Account via the Disneyland App.
Tap the menu icon (the three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner and select “My Tickets and Passes.”
Click the plus icon in the top right corner to open the “Link Tickets and Passes” option. You can manually enter the barcode number for each ticket or use your camera to scan the barcode.
Simply follow these steps on each mobile device, and everyone in your group will be able to manage park tickets and
Lightning Lane Multi Passes with ease!
With a group that size, I have a few Q-Tips on attractions that are especially fun to experience together. First, nothing beats filling an entire boat on Pirates of the Caribbean—Jack Sparrow and his crew will have nothing on your swashbuckling bunch! Star Tours is another fantastic group ride, especially if one of your family members gets chosen as the Rebel Spy. And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is the perfect way to capture a thrilling group photo while helping Rocket free the Guardians. For a more relaxed experience, hop aboard the Disneyland Railroad and enjoy the sights and sounds of the park together from the comfort of an authentic steam-powered train.
I hope this information helps, Paul! If you have any additional questions while planning your trip, please visit us again at planDisney.
Wishing you a magical vacation!
