Hi there, Ivys! I’m thrilled to welcome a fellow Annual Passholder to our planDisney clubhouse! I absolutely LOVE this question! It’s truly "ginger-spice and everything nice." I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than visiting the gingerbread displays around the Resort hotels.
Ivys, because seeing (and smelling) the gingerbread displays is
knead-ed to make the season bright, let’s plan out a
sweet path using Disney transportation. This year, you’ll find those oh-so-delicious displays at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, BoardWalk Inn, the Contemporary, and a small (but adorable) display at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Your best plan is to start your day by parking at
Disney Springs, where parking is complimentary. Plus, you can kick off your morning with the AMAZING Peanut Butter Cold Brew and Coffee Cake Cookie at
Gideon's Bakehouse. Afterward,
hop on a bus to
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to see their “ginger-affe,” zebra, and adorable flamingo display.
Next, to make your way to Disney’s Beach Club, you have two options. You can hop on a bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Once you arrive, walk over to the
FriendShip Boat dock, which will take you to Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Or you can take a bus from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to Animal Kingdom Theme Park, then transfer to a bus to the Beach Club. Once you arrive at the Beach Club, you’ll see that their Gingerbread Carousel is celebrating its 25th anniversary! From there, you can either take the boat or enjoy a scenic walk over to
BoardWalk Inn to enjoy their display.
Next, head out to the bus stop area at the BoardWalk Inn to catch a bus to Magic Kingdom. After you arrive, take a short walk across the street to
Disney’s Contemporary Resort to see their incredible gingerbread castle. I saw their display last Christmas and was absolutely amazed! From the Contemporary, take the complimentary boat service to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Even though its display is the smallest, in my opinion, Wilderness Lodge has one of the most beautifully decorated lobbies during the holidays and is totally worth the visit. If you have time for a little dinner, you can always end your evening with a meal at
Whispering Canyon Cafe. Finally, to make your way back to Disney Springs, just catch a bus outside the front lobby of the Wilderness Lodge, and, just like that, you will have made your way to all the magical gingerbread displays using only Disney transportation!
Ivys, I’m wishing you the most magical holiday! Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. You are always as welcome as can be!
Have yourself a magical little Christmas,
Shonette
