How can I get from the Wilderness Lodge to the Disney Grand

Happy holidays, Catherine! You've arrived for your Walt Disney World Resort Christmas adventure, so let's talk about traveling around the property in style! I wish I could tell you Santa's sleigh could escort you to your destination, but I feel certain he's pretty busy. Here are some alternatives.

It sounds like you're staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, so I hope you're enjoying the festive decor. The lobby is one of my family's favorite photo spots. Unfortunately, there is no complimentary transportation between resort hotels, so the most direct route to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa from there would be using a rideshare service.

Remember that all vehicles, including rideshares, will stop at the guard gate at the resort entrances to ensure you're staying there or have an advanced dining reservation. Be prepared to show your confirmation number on your mobile app along with a photo ID.

If you prefer Disney transportation, I recommend taking the Red Flag water taxi from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom Park. After disembarking, take the Resort Monorail for a fun ride to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If you have time for a scenic stroll, you can also walk to "The Grand" from Magic Kingdom. Just follow the paved trail around the lake, and you'll arrive in about 15-20 minutes.

Since weather and other factors can impact Disney transportation availability and hours of operation, please check at your resort for their up-to-date travel recommendations. My final tip is to use your My Disney Experience mobile app for suggestions using the location icon at the bottom of your screen. Select "Transportation" from the dropdown menu above the map and tap your location to get started.

Catherine, if Santa can't deliver you to your destination, at least you have other means. I hope you have a magical time at your home away from ho-ho-home. Stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
