    What are the additional fees associated with the listed room rate at a Disneyland resort hotel? Resort fee?, taxes? Etc

    Greetings, Lucenda, and welcome to planDisney!

    Thank you for submitting your question to us and I'm excited to help you prepare for a trip to the Disneyland Resort at the end of this year! Have you decided on which Disneyland Resort Hotel you'd like? My favorite has always been the original Disneyland Hotel. Even though it opened back in 1955 alongside Disneyland Park, it's been remodeled and reimagined to reflect modern times yet it still honors the history of the Resort itself.

    I know how frustrating resort taxes and fees can be and no one wants to check out of a hotel only to find hidden costs have been added to the invoice. Thankfully, when you make a reservation at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels through the Disneyland website, they are fairly transparent with the final cost of the reservation at the Checkout screen. Rates are subject to change, but the City of Anaheim requires a Transient Occupancy Tax (17% at the time of this writing) be added to the cost of the room. This is automatically calculated for you by the website before you check out. 

    There are costs that are not included in the room rate, however, and that would depend on your vacation details. These would include parking (self and valet), Theme Park Tickets, incidentals (e.g. room service or merchandise), gratuities, laundry, child care, activities, beverages, and meals. If you want to purchase your Hotel and Tickets in one easy transaction, I would recommend pricing out a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package. 

    The Disneyland Resort over the Holidays is truly a beautiful and magical place! I love watching A Christmas Fantasy Parade go by and I guarantee that the song will stay with you long after your Park visit! I'm also excited to see the Expanded Haunted Mansion Grounds open alongside Haunted Mansion Holiday!
