Hi Katelyn, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I love that feeling of putting on my
MagicBand and knowing that my vacation is finally here! So let’s make sure everyone in your crew has their MagicBands properly linked!
At Disney World,
MagicBands can’t be transferred to another person once they’re linked. However, I recommend calling the
My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ phone number to talk to a Cast Member about your options. While a solution isn’t guaranteed, they’ll try their best to help.
If the MagicBand can’t be reassigned, you have two complimentary alternatives with much of the same functionality. The first is to get a Key to the World Card from
Guest Relations (at the theme parks or the Disney Springs Welcome Center) or the front desk at your
Disney Resort hotel if you’re staying at one during this trip.
Another option is to set up
Disney MagicMobile Service in your phone’s digital wallet. I love this, even as a backup to my MagicBand, since I already use my phone throughout the day and always have it handy.
Going back to MagicBands, they’re really convenient at Disney World, from scanning into theme park and
Lightning Lane entrances to linking
PhotoPass pictures. But they can also unlock a lot of interactive fun too!
You might notice the gold
Disney Fab 50 Character statues all around the four theme parks. If you have a MagicBand+, it’ll let you know that you’re close to a statue by buzzing. And if you give the statue a wave, you might even hear some dialogue or music!
Over in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, there’s also a game called
Batuu Bounty Hunters that you can play with your MagicBand+ and the
Play Disney Parks app. It’ll send you to spots around Batuu as you complete missions and earn your place in the Bounty Hunters’ Guild! It’s a great way to explore the land.
I hope you have a magical visit to Disney World this month. And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney!
