We have an accessable royal guest room at Port Orleans Riverside and we both have back problems. Can we have one of the beds removed, so we can have two locally rented reclining lift chairs for us to use?

    Hello there Richard!

Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney. I'd be more than happy to help. I'm excited to hear you have an upcoming stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside. I haven't had the chance to stay there yet, but it's on my short list for a soon to be booked January visit. The Royal Guest Rooms look especially inviting!

Richard, I know how important it is to get a good night's sleep, especially after many magical hours enjoying the theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort. You'll want to make sure you are fully rested and ready to tackle the day full of pixie dust, and maybe a little coffee, too. While I don't have any personal experience modifying the furniture in my Disney Resort Collection Hotel or renting alternate furniture, I was able to reach out to a Cast Member to get some more information for your particular request.

After a bit of research, they let me know that AdventHealth is the official healthcare provider for Walt Disney World Resort. Whether guests need assistance with pharmacy items, emergency care or a less urgent virtual visit, AdventHealth is ready to assist. You can even request medical equipment rentals to be delivered to your resort room. You'll need to request these items in advance of your visit by calling AdventHealth at (407) 939-7480. Unfortunately, I don't have a list of all the medical rental options available but you'll be able to discuss your needs with a member of the AdventHealth team between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. EST.

In my research I did come across other companies offering reclining lift chair rentals, but I can't guarantee these services would be approved to deliver to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. If you decide to go this route, you would need to first contact your resort directly to inquire about any restrictions.

I hope this helped Richard. If we can answer any additional questions as you make your vacation plans be sure to let us know.

I'm wishing you a most magical trip!
