Hi Tom,
Ah, the moment when real life comes barging into our "Disney Bubble." I've been there! Hakuna Matata (it means no worries!) friend, I have some ideas to get you through your Zoom conference and right back into vacation-mode faster than you can
see all 13-floors of the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
First, just a word of caution that I have experienced some spotty wireless internet in the parking lots of the four Disney theme parks. I would highly recommend a location that would be a little closer to a signal. I have an option for you in
Disney's Hollywood Studios and one at a nearby
Resort hotel.
Also, there are a couple of technology considerations that will make your experience much easier. I would be sure to bring some noise-cancelling headphones with a built-in microphone and be sure to customize the background noise suppression in your Zoom meeting. Switch it to "High" in the settings menu once you are in your meeting waiting room. This should allow you and your colleagues to focus on each other and not the magical environment around you.
Inside the gates of Disney's Hollywood Studios, I would recommend an outside table at
Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. It's located on a bit of a side street, so you won't have the foot traffic that you might find at other locations. Plus, the shade of a canopy of umbrellas and some bigger trees will help with any potential glare on your screen. Since it's a smaller location, the background chatter level is pretty low. Plus, since we know that "In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun," they have an excellent wine list for the moment you can transition back from work to play!
Shortly before you are ready for your conference, be sure to check
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability through your
My Disney Experience mobile app. Then, you can add yourself to the walk-up list without being there quite yet. You'll receive a notification as soon as a table is ready for you.
If you need to focus a little more than a theme park environment will allow, and are open to a ten-minute-or-so walk outside Disney's Hollywood Studios, I suggest you take your meeting to a quiet table at
Belle Vue Lounge at
Disney's BoardWalk Inn. This upscale location offers comfortable seating and good lighting. Once your work is done, board a FriendShip for a quick cruise over Crescent Lake back to the theme park to continue on with your practically perfect Disney day.
I hope that helps, Tom!
