We have a 3 yr-old and a 3 mth old. I am on maternity leave until Jan. and we'd love to go to WDW while I am out. Is it realistic to bring young kids here? My DD is 40 inches so tall enough for many rides. But should we wait until they're older to go?

Hi, Rebecca!  I have to tell you that some of MY favorite Walt Disney World memories involve taking my children from a very young age.  My middle daughter was just over three months old when I took her to Walt Disney World for the first time, and I have pictures I adore of her with Lilo and Stitch, Mickey and Minnie, and even the princesses.  Obviously, the baby won't remember the visit, but you will always have the pictures and the memories.  Best of all, the baby won't cost anything to bring with you, and there really isn't that much more effort involved in taking the baby to the theme parks.  Plan each day like you might an outing at home - extra diapers, extra clothes, and if you are bottle feeding, adequate supplies there as well.

As for your three year old, what a magical age to experience Walt Disney World!  My four year old shares my obsession, and after Da-Da, I'm pretty sure her first word was DoleWhip.  She loves the theme parks, and has enjoyed meeting some of her favorite characters in person on our more recent trips.  She enjoys the parades, the shows, and is definitely a fan of the rides.  While I would tell you I don't think there is an age too young or too old to appreciate a Walt Disney World vacation, three seems to be the age at which my girls all seemed to actually "get it".

I say go.  It seems like it's a good time, with you already out on maternity leave.  You'll have some awesome pictures to take back to work with you to put on  your desk!
