I have a 5 yr old son and a 2 yr old girl. I worry that my daughter will be too young to really remember or enjoy the trip. What is a recommended age? Or would they both have an equal amount of fun to do?

    Erin,

That is a totally understandable question.

I took my youngest daughter when she was 2, though she was only a month-and-a-half short of 3. She very much remembers our time there, though certainly never in as much detail as her father does!

I would say that at 2 she is unlikely to remember very specific details. But does it matter? She certainly will enjoy herself. There is so much there for all young children to do, so no concerns there. And as long as she is not excessive work to manage on a vacation, she should not keep you or the rest of your family from having fun too.

If all other factors were removed from the equation, I would recommend that 4 years old is the ideal age for that first trip. It certainly applied for my elder daughter. But that does not mean that you should cancel this trip. Go. Have fun. She will too!

I am glad to answer any follow-up questions that you may have! Just send me a question from my bio page!

    Have a magical vacation!
